You settle at a table with a crisp 3.5-inch tile, a fine Micron pen, and pencil. No experience needed: the instructor guides you to draw simple, repeating patterns. The pens softly scratch around you and the festival energy fades into a calming backdrop, shoulders relax, and your mind quiets with each mindful mark.
In just minutes, your tile transforms into a small, beautiful piece of art and meditation that is entirely yours, with no right or wrong. You tuck it into a new notebook, carrying away a quiet glow amid the joyful chaos of stationery treasures. It’s the perfect little oasis: blending the thrill of discovery with peaceful creation, leaving you refreshed and already dreaming of the next class.

Dive into the vibrant world of Patty Duffy, a Certified Zentangle Teacher and award-winning artist who transforms Florida’s wildlife and sea life into whimsical creations! Her art blends anatomically correct(ish) forms with bold, vibrant colors, intricate repeating patterns, and delicate shading to create pieces that sparkle with life. Using translucent inks and fine-tipped pens like Sakura Pigma Microns, Patty handcrafts each large-scale drawing over months, often weaving hidden words of love and affirmation into her designs for an extra touch of magic. Originally from New England and now thriving in Indian River County, Florida, Patty’s lifelong passion for making marks on paper comes alive in her sunny studio. Her iconic piece, Big Papa Kevin the gator, stole hearts and snagged an award at the Cocoa Beach Juried Art Show, proving her knack for turning nature into art that captivates.
